Elisha May Rubacha is the inaugural winner of Trent University’s Barbara Rooke Travel Prize. Beginning in 2013, the Prize will be awarded annually to a graduating English major with an average over 80% for travel to a significant literary heritage site or region. Elisha chose Spain, based on her understanding and affection for Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises.
She is currently writing a poetry collection, and inordinately enjoying working as a convenience store clerk.
